I've paid for worse hotel rooms in Africa. It was decent, it was a clean cell. I slept on a cement floor with two wool blankets. I was given three meals a day and had access to a bathroom. I will say that I was treated humanely, I think we all were. We weren't physically abused in any way, but we heard other prisoners being beaten. I heard several the first night. I think there's a really good chance I slept through other things. One night I heard a scuffle during which a prisoner was beaten and plunged in water.
